Choosing the school for your child’s education is one of the most important decisions you’ll make as a parent. Their grade school experiences will shape their life choices and lay the foundation for future successes or failures.

St. Paul Catholic School’s philosophy, curriculum, and activities are centered on the teachings of Jesus Christ and that’s what sets our school apart from others. If you have children about to start Preschool or if you are new to the Highland area, we invite you to look around our website and discover what St. Paul School can offer your child.

SPS 2021-2022 Update - August 9, 2021

Hello SPS Families!

We are very excited to begin another school year in just over one week. Things have been very busy here at school and we are looking forward to having students back in the building!

As you have heard, on Wednesday, August 4th, Illinois Governor Pritzker mandated that all Illinois schools require masks be worn by all students, faculty, staff and visitors while indoors (Executive Order 2021-18). This is an executive order and the Diocese of Springfield has confirmed that we will need to comply.

St. Paul Catholic School will begin the 2021-2022 school year following this mandate as required.

SPS Guidelines:

  • Masks are required for students and adults when inside campus facilities
  • Masks are not required when outside
  • Masks can be removed while eating during lunch periods
  • Athletes and coaches/adults will be required to wear masks during indoor practices and games
  • Athletes and coaches/adults are not required to wear masks while outside
  • Masks are required for students while riding the school bus
  • Masks are required for students while carpooling to and from events

CDC guidance for close contacts has changed. If universal, consistent and correct mask wearing occurs indoors and students remain more than three feet apart, quarantine is not required if exposed to a positive case.

Anyone exhibiting symptoms, regardless of vaccinated status, should remain home until symptom free.

Also, below you will find the most updated links to the Parent/Student Handbook, Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures, and our Back-to-School Night.
